Counselling, Medicines, Consultation, & Harm Reduction
The only revolution that can work is the inner transformation of every human being.
~ Stanislav Grof
Counselling is an opportunity to explore the patterns of thinking and behaving that may be keeping you stuck so that you can create more space and consider new options for coping and thriving. I work from a harm reduction, trauma-informed, and somatic orientation to help clients connect with their inner healing intelligence as they work towards their definition of recovery. My training as a Nurse Practitioner also allows me to incorporate prescription medications into counselling as needed.
Coming in spring 2024... please check back for more information.
Please be aware that this service is limited to adult clients who qualify for a legal exemption through Health Canada's Special Access Program. Eligibility includes a confirmed diagnosis of PTSD that has not responded to the usual treatments, as well as medical screening to ensure that there are no medical, psychiatric, or medication related contraindications.
As a TheraPsil Medical and Psychotherapy Associate, I can apply for legal exemptions for Psilocybin-Assisted Therapy for qualifying clients through Health Canada's Special Access Program. Clients have the option of working with me as their primary therapist, prescriber, and/or co-sitter, depending on their clinical needs and personal preference. It is important to understand that Health Canada makes the final decision about who may access Psilocybin-Assisted Therapy, and their inclusion criteria are quite strict. Interested clients can find more information and self-refer through TheraPsil.
Hi. My name is Keren and I'm a dual qualified Family Nurse Practitioner and Registered Clinical Counsellor with two decades of experience in mental health, substance use, and harm reduction. I blend solid education in mainstream psychiatry and psychopharmacology with specialized training in psychedelic and somatic therapy, and extensive personal experience navigating non-ordinary states of consciousness. My core values include trauma-informed practice and a non-pathologizing approach to understanding mental health and distress. I aim to support clients to move towards greater psychospiritual integration through counselling, working with medicines, and psychedelic preparation and integration.
